Treatments

A word about treatments.  Any treatment will only improve the condition of your skin IF you are following one of my prescribed, customized skin care plans.  Seventy-Five Percent (75%) of your improvement will come from your home care regimen, used consistently, morning and night.
If you are interested in only in-room facial treatments at my office and no home care regimen, that is your option, however, please understand that going back to OTC products will undo the treatments that you receive in my office.  I specialize in and am highly trained in treatments are results oriented.
Customized Skin Care takes into consideration the following points:  desired results, lifestyle and commitment to a program.  Each client is unique and requires a customized plan of action in order to obtain the best results.  Whether it's a simple home care regimen or a series of treatments that takes your skin from point A to point B, a consultation will be the first step in determining your course of action and customized skin care plan.

A combination of home care and regular treatments is the quickest way to see results.  There are many options.  One might choose to do home care only or a combination of home care and in-room treatments. It's up to YOU to communicate your needs to me, your personal skin care professional.  A face to face consultation is best, however, virtual consultations are available.
I have studied and researched a variety of skin care and treatments to suit a wide range of clients and skin conditions.  From the basics of  SkinScripts to technologically advanced skincare such as Viktoria De'Ann Pepide Cosmeceuticals, AnteAGE Bone Marrow Stem Cell skin care.  Acne may be addressed by any of the skin care lines, however, the Face Reality System is specifically designed to treat acne without drugs or doctors with at 90% clearance in a minimum of 90 days.
I prefer to keep my treatments at a "no-downtime" level, after all, most of us live in Florida and lead active lifestyles which could be interrupted by more aggressive treatments.  Aggressive treatments performed in a planned, prudent manner may be needed and recommended to address more advanced signs of aging.

What is a FACIAL?  A facial is a basic treatment to cleanse, exfoliate, up to 10 minutes to extract pores, masque, and treat skin with beneficial serums, lotions or creams.  This is a treatment that can be done every 4 weeks to maintain the skin and address your skin care needs.  There is no down-time.
What is a EXTRACTION FACIAL?  If you have extremely clogged pores with open or closed comedones (blackheads or milia), this is the treatment for you.  Skin is cleansed, exfoliated, 30 minutes of extractions, masque, and treat skin with beneficial serums, lotions or creams.  You may need treatment every 2-4 weeks depending on the severity of the condition.  It is highly recommended that you follow a professional skin care program to improve this condition and perhaps diet and lifestyle may be addressed.  There is no down-time, however, extensive extractions may leave the skin pink and puffy which will subside.
What is EXFOLIATION?  Exfoliation can be mechanical or chemical.  Exfoliation lifts and removes dead cells from the skin to increase cell turnover and allow topical ingredients to penetrate and do their job.  There are varying degrees of exfoliation depending on the condition of your skin.
TYPES OF MECHANICAL EXFOLIATION
  • Microdermabrasion:  A diamond tip wand is glided in different directions across the skin to remove dead cells and polish the skin. It is beneficial for fine lines and acne scarring. Best done monthly or in a series for best results. There is no down-time involved.
  • Dermaplane:  A surgical steel blade is skillfully used to"shave" the face removing dead cells and vellus hairs (peach fuzz).  Dermaplane is my top treatment and what I am known for and leaves the skin smooth and glowing.  There is no down-time.
TYPES OF CHEMICAL EXFOLIATION
  • Enzymes:  Enzymes breakdown dead cells using pineapple and papaya enzymes.  Enzyme exfoliation can also include glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids for added benefits of the exfoliation process.  There is no down-time.
  • Single Acids:  This is a basic exfoliation using Lactic, Glycolic, Salicylic or Mandelic acids.  All are neutralized to stop the exfoliating action.  These are best done in a series for results.  Proper home care is required.  There is no down-time, however, the sun should be avoided.
  • Blended Acids:  These are a blend of TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) and a combination of glycolic, salicylic, mandelic, lactic, resorcinol, and various other acids.  These peels are in varying percentages and applied layer by layer until the skin and the clients have reached the "end point".  These peels are NOT neutralized; they are self-neutralizing.  There may be some stinging and heat associated with this type of treatment.  There may be some down-time which includes peeling, flaking, sun burned look, tightness of skin.  This is normal.  Not everyone will flake or peel, however, the benefit of the treatment is still realized.  Peels are used to address skin texture, scarring, and pigmentation.  Prepping the skin and using a prescribe pre and post peel regimen are required.   The sun should be avoided along with other lifestyle activities.
What are SKIN IMPERFECTIONS?  Skin imperfections include telangiectasias (broken capillaries/facial spider veins), cherry angiomas (red blood spots), skin tags, fibroma (usually found in darker skin types), pigment spots (UV damage) or sebaceous hyperplasia (donut shaped oil deposits).  These imperfections can be treated with electrocoagulation which dehydrates the lesion topically.  I DO NOT treat moles, warts or solar/actinic keratosis as these are to be addressed by a dermatologist.
Other advanced treatments such as Microneedling, Microchanneling and Microcurrent are available and will be discussed and offered.
